The MKM Dundee Stars are delighted to announce the return of Dundonian-born defenceman Kris Inglis for the 2026/27 season.

Last season, Inglis appeared in 44 games for the Stars, recording six points. The 27-year-old now ranks third on the club’s all-time appearances list with 440 games played, having contributed 51 points and 276 penalty minutes throughout his Dundee career.

Inglis first joined the Stars in 2016 on a two-way contract while continuing to ice with Scottish National League side Dundee Comets and the Dundee Stars Under-20s. He also helped the Comets capture both the SNL Championship and Playoff Championship in 2017.

Internationally, Inglis made his Great Britain debut at the 2025 IIHF European Cup of Nations in Sosnowiec, Poland. He was also named to the initial Great Britain squad for the 2026 IIHF World Championship before injury ruled him out of the tournament.

More recently, Inglis helped Great Britain claim silver at the inaugural Ultimate Hockey 3×3 tournament in Austria in April.

As Inglis now prepares for his tenth season in Dundee, fans can look forward to celebrating a decade of dedication and service to the club, with further details to be announced at a later date.

After committing to Dundee for the tenth season, Inglis said:

“It’s exciting times with the club, the takeover and obviously the new coach coming in. I was desperate to be a part of it, so it was a no-brainer to sign back this year.”

He also spoke about his early interactions with Head Coach Scott Dutertre:

“The first time I spoke to Scott lasted an hour, and I was really impressed with the type of person he is. He’s really personable and eager to learn about Dundee, how the club has operated in the past and what he can improve on.

“It’s going to be a fresh look this season and I think, with Scott at the helm, it’s going to be a good year.”

Finally, Inglis shared a message with Stars fans:

“I’m really excited for this season. It’s a fresh start for the club with some new faces, and I think we’re going to have a different identity as a team, which is going to be exciting to watch.

“If you can, come and be a part of it. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in September.”

Head Coach Scott Dutertre commented on the importance Inglis plays within the team:

“Kris was one of the first guys I talked to, and he seems really excited about what we’re trying to do. He’s left a legacy here, put a decade of work in with this franchise and I’m excited to get to work with a player like Kris.”

“He epitomizes what we’re trying to do. He plays hard, defends well, blocks shots, and stands up for teammates. This is some of the core structure we want to build the organisation around.”

Inglis is our 13th signing of the summer, joining Josh Nelson, Jonathan McBean, Ben BrownTravis Ewanyk, Keaton Jameson, Craig Moore, Evan Brand, Tyson Laventure, Gary Haden and Matt DeBoer, Zack Hoffman and Brodi Stuart on next season’s roster.
